fanning mill

Hey guys. Been toying with the idea of cleaning my own wheat seed. the last time i tried this it was a disaster because of to many hulls. I was hoping one of you might want to rid themselves of a fanning mill that they don't want or need anymore. I am in need of a little rd. trip so picking it up wouldn't be a problem. Also if any one has another way to clean the seed I'm listening.

We have an old Maytag fanning mill. Has not been used in many years but last time it was it worked just fine. I am in Missouri The Lake of the Ozarks area. E-Mail is open

Hate to say it, but mine went for scrap in 2007. Wanted to re-store it, but no time, nor money. Dad would clean 500 bu each year. Filling it with a scoop shovel.

I have toyed with the idea of one of those rotary cleaners. There are some that have 2 screens so it will separate the fines and coarse stuff at the same time I think. If so it would be faster. And could be set up over a tarp so any weed seed could be cleaned up. If you just want to get hulls out you could set one up over a trough with a larger screen so the wheat would fall into the trough and the hulls go out the end. With an auger in the trough seed could be put into anything.
