A little bit of a discussion going on over in implement alley on mower conditioners. I thought I would create a broader discussion here. I am taking one era, the 1970's, and asking who had the best mower/ baler team back then. John Deere had the 12XX mower and 3XX balers nearly all that decade. New Holland started the 1970's with the 46X haybine and 2XX balers and finished with the 47X haybine and 31X baler. IH started with the 990 mower 4X0 baler and finished with the 1190 mower and 4X5 baler. Of course other brands had their own entries. No right or wrong answer. Just a way to have some fun on a rainy evening. I would not be ashamed to have any of the above mentioned but will admit being partial to the Deeres. For a short while late in the decade Ford received the IH products to sell under the blue paint.
