farmall A oil questions

Hello, I lost my manual for my 1947 Farmall A and I seem to have forgotten how much (and what grade) of engine oil does it take? also, how much gear oil goes in the transmission/gearbox? and finally, what kind of oil filter does it have as I do not have the other one handy thanks!

Engine can be 15W-40 or straight 30, gearbox 85-140 or straight 90.

I run 15W-40 Delvac and 85W-140 in everything.

oil weights as david said.

Quantities - roughly 5 quarts oil - 5 quarts gear oil.

but as always - use the level plug and oil petcocks to be sure you're good.

Oil filter - I'm not sure when they changed sizes - but I believe the A series uses two different ones - a tall one or a short one depending on year/serial # - so be careful with what people tell you here.

And even if I knew which you had, for the life of me I can't find the fram # of the one I use...

But will dig further if nobody replies.
