First cutting of hay and my helpers (pics)

I only mowed and baled half of my hay field this week because I was scared of the rain. It dried up nice and I got it baled. It turned out to be some of the best hay I have baled so far! I guess the fertilizer I put down last fall and this spring really helped!

Looks like you know how to rake and bale. Those are nice bales. That baler doesent like heavy windrows it has to have tine to make a bale probably have12-14 slices per bale nice firm bales. Huge windrows don't let the baler do a good job.

congratulations! It is a challenge to dry hay down when there is enough moisture in the ground to make your tires come up wet.

What did you cut with? Haybine? Sickle mower? I have a NH Hayliner 68, not a Super, but I really like those balers. Thanks for the pictures.

What kind of hay is that?

Your help is about the same size as mine - just big enough that they can help some but small enough you better keep one eye on them all the times.

Nice color. Seems to be coastal possibly. Great help. Interesting
the hay is dry yet the front tire on tractor is wet. I'm thinking the
bright sun and small wws allow for the hay to dry sitting on top of
the stubble.

Great job,
Mark

You noticed that too? That's why I was wondering what kind of hay it was. I'd never seen "stubble" that looked like that.

I mow with a Hesston pt10. The hay is timothy and alfalfa with a little brome. I cut it high so the grass would sit on top of the stubble because I knew the ground was wet. The hay dried nicely. Im very happy the way it turned out. Hopefully I will get the rest of it mowed later this week.
