Onions and 2-4D

I need to spray for some thistles around the edge of the garden and going to use 2-4D. Onions are on the edge that has the thistle infestation going. Wondering if the 2-4D would hurt the onions. Was going to use the 4 wheeler and wand sprayer to be more accurate. Just want to make sure. If it dries out a little more, need to put the 6' tiller back on the mf135 and work up the open areas of the garden. Getting a little weedy.

Why not use a paint brush if there are less than 50 thistles or so. it will prevent over spray. Jim

I sprayed some 2-4-D in my row of onions and it didn't hurt them.

Mowing will not kill the thistles.

2-4D. In high doses will kill wild opinions . Not sure about garden opinions.

I wouldn't spray that near anything I ate. As stated, mow it.
