Farmall M hydraulics

I have my dads 1950 M Farmall with belly pump hydraulics. I was pulling an old disc and the hitch on the disc broke causing it to come unhooked except for the one hydraulic line. It was pulled very tight before I stopped. Since then the tractor pukes out hydraulic fluid through the over flow anytime it is running. Even when you are not moving the hydraulic lever. It just pukes it all out and provides no hydraulic lift when you do cycle the lever. Any ideas? Sorry if I am not describing this correctly. I was an equipment salesmen and like all salesmen I am no mechanic.

Check to see if you cracked/broke one of the pipes that you had the hose hooked to that goes into the belly pump. Maybe you cracked the pump/reservoir?

Are you meaning that it is coming out of the fill? Something isn't good there. Is there any noise when the clutch is out? If not I would go with broken pipe(s) coming out of the pump. That should't make it puke fluid all the time, though. See if any of the pipes are loose or cracked. If not it is time to drop the pump.

There isn't any noise. I know I am not going to describe this correctly but it is coming out of a hole just in front of the pump on the underside of the tractor. I hope that makes some sense. From what I have learned on here I believe I broke a pipe or the reservoir itself. Do you think I am on the right track?

I'd be inclined to think that since there isn't noise the pump isn't cracked or anything. If pieces were loose it would sound like it when you let the clutch out.

Sounds like it is running into the cavity around the pump. Could be anything from the seals to a cracked pump. Start by taking out each of the pipes that go into the pump. Even if they don't have hoses hooked up pull them and check them. I believe there are three total unless someone has gotten crafty. They should be regular black pipe with elbows but have springs on them (if they haven't been removed). If it is a large leak I would lean toward that cause. When you are pulling the lever it is pumping out into the tractor instead of through the hose.

If those all check out you don't have any choice but to drop the pump and see what is going on. Too bad it leaks all of the time as that puts the machine out of commission.
