Eagle arms inop after winter

Case 300 stored under a tarp all winter, now the Eagle arms won"t lift. I don"t have specialized pressure meters etc, so I"m looking for simple trouble shooting tips to isolate. Need to know if hyd pump is working, then maybe stuck bypass etc. Any tips are welcome. Thanks

The 3pt. on your tractor is controlled by a simple single action open center spool valve. Is there oil in the torque tube under the fuel tank and hyd valves? The dipstick and fill are on the front shiffting cover under the steering wheel. Scroll down to the Case forum with further questions, if low oil is not the problem.

Thanks for the reply. Hyd oil is above low mark, below full mark. So hyd oil is not the problem as far as I can tell.

Follow the linkage from the lever beside the seat forward to under the fuel tank and make sure the linkage is moving the spool to full stroke. I have seen the roll pins sheared on the linkage, so the spool doesn't move properly.

Bro,
You may be wright, Here is a pic of the pump engage/disengagement rail. It is on the RH side under the control valves. Pushed back as in the pic engages the pump. Pulled forward disingages the pump. One needs to just take a small prybar to move the shift rail forward or back.

Thanks so much for the info, I had isolated the suspect "shifter button" which I never knew existed. I pushed and pulled but only got a grinding sound. Now I know how it should look engaged.

Question #1 (probably dumb) does the engine have to be turning to engage the pump? #2 why would it pop out of position anyway?

The picture was beautiful, really helped me find the "button" so called.

Thanks again, Bill Holton

OK, after turning the engine over a few times, I was able to move the "shift button" to the position shown in the picture (thanks heaps). After engine start, It made an initial grinding-bumping sound and then quieted down but no hyd pressure. The "shift button" can be rotated about 100 degrees around it's axis with no apparent effect. I guess I'm looking at a tear down. At 74 yrs, wrenching is not my favorite sport but I do what I must. My case has a front lift that complicates removing the gas tank. Thanks again for all the help and any further tear down hints are welcome.
