Soil erosion

Went from Topeka to Minneapolis to Mitchell Sd. to Central Il in the last 3 days. The amount of soil erosion from the recent storms is the worst I've seen. Many places the fences along the freeway were 1/2 covered with dirt from the fields. Washouts are going to make harvest a nightmare. Some places a lot of the crops are missing. And you can add drowned out spots on top of that. Going to be a lot of replanting. I can't imagine what it was like back before reduced tillage.

Not a lot different. I still moldboard and had just as much washing as the guys that chisel plow. You can't stop 3 inches in a 2 hour span and 6 inches in 48 hours without grass on the soil. Lately it just seems like all we get is gulley washes instead of normal rain. It is going to start making people think about more grass water ways. It has been a frusterating spring. A lot of people around me including myself are going to have to replant.

My ponds are not even full yet and 10 mile north of me, have been over flowing for a month now.
