This is what it looks like north of Des Moines this morning. Those clouds look bad. And they are coming for another hit.

came across Iowa last night on highway 20 and it looked like that from east of Waterloo all the way to Fort Dodge, just lakes of water everywhere
 
Yes we are getting watered again. Here in Eastern Iowa we needed some rain. These rains are real spotty. Just last week we got maybe 2 tenths and not ten miles away they got 5 inches.

We had 2 inches on Sat. and last nite {sun.} to 9am this morning {mon.} we got another 1 1/2 inches ... forecast says chance of rain everday this week .. O-BOY ..guess I wouldn't be mowing much .. or work in garden ..I have some plants in house , I just may go and mud in .. see what happens ..

Going to be an interesting year to try to get crops all the way through harvest.
Here in central NY we started out dry, which is unusual right here. It's either been cold, or hot. Then this past week, in a series of storms, we got 3.4" rain. The storms were short and violent. Some included hail. The water came down so fast there is plenty of erosion. I haven't seen it like this since hurricane Agnes, in June of 1972. And that was 11 inches of rain!
 
Here in NW Ia. north of Cherokee we had 2.5" Sat night and Sunday. Then we got another 5.5" last night.

I am 60 miles south west of you, we are soaked. It has been raining solid since Friday night and more is headed in.

Better rain than drought.
 
Wow, popper, you got hit! It's no wonder HWY 3 is closed by Aurelia. We had.10 Fri night, 1.7 Sat and 2.20 last night. Lake Albert is back at the threshing show grounds. Jim
 
David We have had since Friday night late too but I just looked and we only have a little over 1 1/2 inches. It has fell perfectly. Rains a while and then quits. Almost zero run off.
 
North Central Ia. We got 80 acres of corn planted Friday (wet spots were mudded in) before we got rained out. We are about half done with corn, and since then we have had 2.5 inches of rain, with rain forecast every day this week, so I think we are done with corn. Working ground Friday, I could count , looking around over a 1,000 acres that has not been touched this year yet. Told our minister yesterday, that there must be a 6 month delay in getting our prayers to heaven. After praying last summer, the rain finally came!!!! Have a good day and thank a "vet".
 
I am going to Minneapolis today but not home. Took more than 1/2 the last 30 days off so I need to run a bit so I can pay some bills. I'm scheduled to be home a week from today tho. I'm kind of anxious to get home to build that handicap lift for the 3010 I talked about. That project has been keeping me up nights. lol
 
we aren't in Iowa, but central IL here. Dad dumped 5.5 inches out of the gauge this morning. This covers the last few days. More rain expected today and all week. We did get all the corn planted, but lots of beans to go yet
 
we've had close ot 9 inches in 3 days here. supposed to be chances of rain all this week. should get interesting...... :roll:
