Little 3 cyl kubota diesel wanting to run on the warm side changed thermostat radiator is clean but the little short by-pass hose from the head to the water pump has a kink in it could this cause problems? happy memorial day! thanks

It should not cause heating issues as it is designed to keep coolant circulating when the thermostat is closed, preventing hot spots and providing even temp rise. Use an infared hand held laser guided thermometer to see if the radiator has major cool spots on it indicating plugged tubes, or blocked air passages. Jim

You did not mention model number but have been a KUBOTA dealer 28 years and most of the heating issues can be traced to stopped up radiator. Most times folks THINK it is clean but in reality down in the corners it will be packed with mud and weed seed. UNLESS you have had the radiator out where you can really clean it I suspect air flow problem in the radiator. Janicholson is correct in that an infared thermometer is your best tool to locate heating issues.

Before laser thermometers we felt the radiator for cool spots.Get the engine hot, shut down and check the radiator surface.Model A Fords could checked with the engine running.Ford tractors with the grills that open are easy.

just got radiator back from shop it is in good condition am thinking head gasket but getting no water in engine. thanks

I had one with a cracked head, because the switch that turned on the electric fan didn't come on quick enough, motor got hot and cracked the head. If your little coolant jug gets empty of coolant and there's no apparent or obvious leak, you probably have a cracked head.
