Is there something you put on the painted surface before you put on a decal so you can position it correctly.

My brother used windex when he put them on my 1600. Basically any water based soapy cleaner should work.

Get them on in place, and then use a squegee to get them flat. Any air bubbles you can't work out my brother just pokes with a pin and then squeegees it again.

I second the motion on Windex.

I never seemed to have much luck with the recommended dish soap & water mix. Don't know why ? Everyone seems to recommend it. Maybe I didn't use enough soap ?

I just mark the spot I want them usually place some masking tape to help align and just carefully stick them on making darn sure it's where I wanted it.

maple-hunter decals, make sure surface is clean peel one side off decal apply decal then peel off other side will leave individual letters or numbers.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did not have much luck with dish soap and water, and like another guy said, maybe not enough soap. I will try the windex and see if my luck improves.
