The generator on my Farmall H quit generating. I saw where someone mentioned that maybe the generator needed to be polarized since I had a battery cable off while it wasn"t running. Being of a mind to try the simple, inexpensive repairs first before throwing parts at it, I figured I"d give it a try. Best I can recall, I need to send juice from the negative battery post into the armature with a jumper wire. Just a quick hit and it"s done. Just want to make sure that"s right before I roast a winding.

Correct. Easiest is from bat terminal on VR (or cutout) to the Arm Terminal this puts battery voltage into the gen and field polarizing the gen. But it is not likely that even 2 months would depolarize the field.
