494 corn planter shift lever

i am setting my john deere 494 corn planter, i have everything set up except for the shift lever, it will not move eaither way and i need to slide it over to 3. it is set at 4 now, thanks

Did you put a wrench on the square shaft that drives the units, and turn it a little while moving the shift leaver? Sometimes it is nesseary.

yeah i did, i ended up shearing two pins though, thanks for the advice though1
