I retired from a 45 hr 6 day a week job to 7 days a week and 80 hrs

I hear you. I started my discing, and mowing business when I worked the swing swift. Since I retired seams like there is never enough time in the day now. Don't know how I got my work done while stil working at my night job. Stan

I retired 3 years ago after 38 years of pushing a rig down the road and truck gardening on the side. I have enough work to keep me busy fore ever. I have 8 old farm tractors to go through yet plus the every day things that have to be dune around the place. This last winter I put electric heat in our house. Some of the things about being retiried is you can go to bed and get up when you want to and if you pooped out you can take a break or quit for the day. If I decide to take off for a day or a week or two I don't have to answer to anybody.

Couldnt agree more with the lack of time. I worked in the shipyards then went to teaching now finsihed with both. I seem to have less spare time now than ever before, I think you end up doing things you just didnt bother with before. Havent even got to working on the tractors yet, I fifnished work last July.

That's exactly what my father-in-law said. The worst thing about retirement is you never get a day off, and I have found out he was right.

Retired 9 years ago, and was going to fix up an old tractor or pickup up one a year. Got started, but that is it. Had 50 Alpacas to take care of, now have 300, and spending 3 hours a day irrigating. WILL BE MAKING SOME CHANGES THIS SUMMER.

I get to the shop about 10 and usually head for the house by 3.
Really I don't know how I had time to do what needed to be done
around here working full time. I can consume a full day on just
normal maintenance items. But that's ok. I'll take retirement.

I was forced to retire in 2007. Opened up a little fixit shop. At this time I am two weeks behind on work. Gotta find me a real job and rest.

In to the retirement thing now about 4 years and seems I am busier than ever. Just can,t quit buying things to fix and the folks just keep asking me to do things.
