...free lumber.
We're going to build an enclosed deer stand this summer. Thinking about 6'X8' with awning windows. Got a propane heater from a camper we can use. Build a table to play cribbage on and maybe a fold down bunk so one guy can take a nap while the other is on watch.
But pricing out the materials for a shack that size was completely cost prohibitive.
So I've been watching Craigslist for used lumber.
I looked this morning and saw an ad for free lumber. Only about 3 miles from me. So I jumped in the pickup and was there at 7 AM.
The lady was happy to see it go. I got about 18 studs and enough 1X lumber to sheath most of the whole building.
I'm pleased a punch this morning.

Jerry, if you lived closer You could get all you wanted. I have containers full all kinds of stuff all to good to throw away. Right now I have a bunch of treated 2x10s on the job we are working on. We also have other household items slightly used.

really nice,! You cant beat it! Lots of jobs I was on,near the end they would say anybody can have leftover blocks, bricks etc,Most of the guys scooted out to the bar at the end of the day and laughed at me loading stuff as they were leaving,I have used the free stuff for many projects!Heres
just a few of them that I have shown before

Looks like new lumber - cost someone to get it in the first place. Didn't tell you why she got it gone?

Think you owe her a nice box of chocolates!

Great score!
One of our deer stands is a two person job too.
No bunk in it though. Hmmm. :)

I got a deal 10 years ago that was pretty decent. Wasn't free, but for $200 I got a whole tri axle gooseneck trailer load of rough sawn pine. Somebody had sided a house with the stuff. It wasn't squared up on one side so I had to trim that one side on every board, but there was enough there to side a 20x60 cattle shed with plenty left over.

I check "free stuff" every day on CL. Have gathered lots of skids for stacking fire wood. Sure would like to find a bunch of wood to do an outbuilding to store implements and stuff.
