Firefox is the only way to go.

I've still got Internet Explorer on all 3 of mine, I simply ignore it and never use it.

LOL!

Don't rush to judgement. Use your FireFox for three or four days then get back to us.

I found it a total POS, not unlike Chrome. :>)

IE is not so much a program as it is part of the linkage internal to the Kernal of the Windows 7 program. MS has recieved flack for this but has managed to fend off the arguments. I believe the only partial answer is to disable it. See info on the net. If removed, it takes real effort to repair the internal damage done to the OS. John Please check ut my comment on the Update 2 posting. Jim

Heck Im so glad its working Im not critical just yet lol I can always try Google later but I dont use G mail or Google Search cuz I dont like it when one company becomes a fat hog

Absolutely!

And the nice part is, this still allows the 'nasty little critter' to stay running in the background. :>)

Just my humble opinion, but I say a band-aid is still a band-aid, color not withstanding.

Allan

Another "my opinion", but anything to do with Google is not welcome in these offices.

They have become an enity that borders on infringement.

You can't believe the issues resolved when that joker with it's hidden batch file(s) is removed from a system.

i went to control panel, programs, turn windows features on or off, unchecked to turn off internet explorer NOW WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS i have firefox set as default browser also

I have been using Firefox exclusively for years, no problems at all. I don't allow the Microsoft updates either. If I want a little variety I do have Chrome installed but rarely use it.

That, along with the paid version of Avast antivirus and a little careful looking before opening suspicious emails, etc. and so far I'm good.

We have IE at work and every Monday is an adventure because of the updates they insist on doing all the time. We are always having to do something to get things going again, system restore works sometimes, sometimes not. Watch out for Java updates, some of those are bogus too.

I also found Chrome to be very unworkable. Got rid of it nearly as quick as it took to download and install.

Other than going with a Linux sysyem, which I have NO experience with, I just don't see how it gets much better than Firefox?

used Firefox for years from its begining then i tried chrome now I wont use anything else also have a chrome book so now no windows to worry about at all.
I would never use microshaft internet exploder. try chrome you will love it!

Congratulations! That was a he!! of a battle. I'm glad you won. BTW I am a long time Firefox user. I keep IE around for the very rare instance where Firefox has a problem with a site. Never tried Chrome, so can't comment on that.

Love Mozilla. I use download helper as an add on for saving videos. Then down load FLV player to play them. Works for me. I really like to enlarge print by holding the ctrl key and + key to make things larger and ctrl and - key to make it smaller. Every time you hit the + key it gets bigger and bigger.

Glad you got it up and going John T.
Frustrating as they may be, we all seem to love to hate them!

Internet Explorer is a Microsoft product, and comes bundled with every version of windows, so it cannot be un-installed. You can, however remove all references to it on your quick launch bar, start menu, etc. I've used Firefox for awhile and like it, but there are a few sites that IE works better with.
Just my 2c worth.
