Nelson Alberts (89) of Emden, Illinois passed away Yesterday.

Army Veteran who helped shape my thoughts and beliefs. He was there for the WW-II inaugeratoin in Washington, DC

Spent a lot of time at their house pheasant hunting, baling hay and then getting to "work" with them back in the late 60's and early 70's. He and his brother in law went from Oliver 880's and a 6 row planter to John Deere 4020's and 4320 and then the 4430's and 12 row planter when I "worked" for them in the mid 70's.

Kinda Sad day here

RIP Nelson

its sad to lose these people, i think the world will never again see the kind of sacrifice this generation made for their country, both on the battle fronts and at home, home folks did without a lot, yet still put out maximum effort to keep the gi's in food, ammo and war machines, the women stepped up and built the machines while the men were off to war, i just dont think the modern generations could ever pull that off
