read your post earlier in the day but could not respond and for like all of us there is no clear cut answer so you will have to deal with it on an individual bases. as i write this i am sitting with my 88 year old mom in the nursing home, she is in the last stages of her life and hospice has been called in. i know little about pace makers but i know some about being in a down position. 1.5 years ago i had a major stroke, spent 4 weeks in the hospital and rehab. and then sent home with a bedside potty and a wheelchair. nearly blinded, left side weakened and numb and only limited mobility i sunk into dispair only to realize this: sink or swim. i chose to swim, today i am able to drive, operate my tractor and function on my own. i tell you this not for anything except to encourage your mom, with you and your dad's help to make good medical decisions, decisions that might make the difference between sinking or swimming. mom, resting peaceably, is surrounded by her 4 loving children, grandchldren and great grandchildren. i was able to talk to her about her salvation and she assured me that she is saved. is she ready to go? i do not know, for the will to live, from the moment our new borne butt is spanked to the very end is a strong desire in our lives. am i ready for her to go? i searched my heart and her face many times and yet have an answer. good luck!
