OT. Planning trip to San Francisco Yosemite , etc

Planning a trip to mid California and Yosemite area late next week for about 10 days and need suggestions and thoughts on things to do . Would like to do a circle from San Fran. thru Yosemite, Kings Canyon , maybe Sequoia. Would also like to do the coast of northern Ca. and Oregon. What about the mule rides in these areas. Any pointer or suggestions would be welcome. Not interested in Wine tours.

Thanks

There is a nice tractor museum in Woodland (about an hour and a half from SF near I5) called Heidricks. Has a bunch of tractors in one side and old trucks in the other (brothers started it). Also a small museum (that I am part of) in San Ramon, 30 tractors and a few engines.

Don't know if you are into trains, but a couple in the greater SF bay area, an old logging steamer, old steamer through the Niles Canyon and electric setup in Rio Vista. Also a nice train museum in Old Sacramento. Also a skunk train going north.

Email is open if you want any more details.

Big yessir on the Heidrick Ag History Museum. You'll see tractors there you'll not find in the midwest. Lots of Best and Holt tractors.

We did a 4 hour mule ride in Yosemite. Was a little much for my wife and I but the kids did fine. If I had it to do over I'd choose the 2 hour ride instead.

If you get a chance, do the night tour to Alcatraz.

Listened to the guide at the Grand Canyon explaining the mule ride to the bottom of the bottom of the canyon to those signed up for the ride.

He explained that they would match each person to a certain mule depending on size, personality, etc. He finished his talk with: "For those of you that have never ridden a mule before, we have mules for you that have never been ridden". I got a good laugh out of that.

If you go up through Oregon, whatever you do, DO NOT MISS CRATER LAKE. Last summer we did 8 Natl Parks in the RV, what a beautiful trip...

He'll be able to get into Crater lake part way, but I'd bet the loop road is still snowed in. Generally doesn't open till near memorial day.
But I agree, it is worth seeing!

Beautiful place to travel. Last year we went to Lake Tahoe after San Francisco and then over to Carson City and Virginia City Nevada. After that we went down to Yosemite, Sequoia National Forest, Tulare to the farm show and then back up through the San Joaquin Valley. Absolutely some of the most outstanding scenic areas that we have ever been to. Take your time and stop and see it all.
