Didn't see your post until tonight, but wanted to add my 2 cents. My wife and I have always had good luck taking a half teaspoon of "Knox Gelatin" in our coffee or juice each morning. It makes a lot of difference in the knee, elbow, wrist and finger joints. I feel that if those are feeling better, then it must be helping the other joints.

Thanks. I'm taking notes. Tonight, suddenly my knee is worse than it's been for eight or none months. It stabs me when I step down and then it stabs in a different place when I lift the leg and swing it forward. Had to limp to the porch to get the cane out again. Hopefully it will straighten out when this cold, damp, misty weather leaves.

I have some golden raisins soaking in gin in the refrig and I started taking Ostio Bi-Flex today. Might put some gelatin in the morning coffee. I don't know if a person can O/D on too much of this stuff but it's gotta start working real soon. I'm only 62 and I figure I should have many more productive years left.

I had to chuckle this eve when I went to the kitchen using a cane and I passed Marilyn leaving the kitchen using her cane. She's scheduled for hip replacement for June 24 and she's only six months younger than me. I'm supposed to be the designated care-giver for her when she gets home from surgery. She tells me I need surgery worse than her and I tell her she needs surgery more than I do. Maybe I should ask the surgeon if he has group rates. LOL. Jim

My experience is the Ostio-Bi-Flex takes about a week to even begin to help. I,ll take it pretty solid for a few weeks then back off and it will carry over for a week or so. Just certain what affects it has on the rest of the body. Seventy years old with knee problems.

Well , Fixer-- , my left knee had the same problem. I am 62+ now but 5 yrs ago had total knee replacement. Was bon on bone with floating fragments and also torn miniscis , what was left of it . I havn't had an ounce of pain since. Might as well get an x-ray or MRI and know what you are dealing with. Hope yours isn't worn out but that type pain isn't just arthur.

I had the Xray and MRI last, lessee, the MRI was last August followed by a scoping to clean up a Miniscis tear. Helped for awhile but got worse so went back under the Xray and suddenly it was bone-on-bone on one side of the joint. He shot me with three shots of that cocks comb lubricant last Dec and it did work for a couple of months. Not anymore!!!! I can go back on the prescript anti-inflammatory if I really get desperate but after a couple of days the tummy doesn't feel so good and I can't get too far from the porcelain throne, or wherever I can hide outside. (sigh). Capt Morgan Black doesn't seem to numb the pain but it puts me in a better mood, LOL. You probably get the idea by now that I don't have time to be hobbled :!: Jim

I went on the Diclophenac sodium anti-inflamatory back then and it helped me so much I almost didn't have the repalcement. Am still on it now and it helps all the other joint inflamation to keep pain down. I have a pretty strong stomach so no prob;em there. They call it "degenerative joint disease" or djt and it ain't fun but it's the cards we got dealt I guess. Good luck with your wife and both of you take care. RB

Fifty five with a twenty five year construction-roofing career behind me. Eight months ago went in to have a meniscus tear scoped and woke up to find I also got a double microfrac procedure! If there are any Detroit Tiger fans here, it's almost the very same op. that Victor Martinez got some fourteen months ago... Schiff Mega Red joint care capsules work very well for me. No knee pain. No canes, braces , etc. Working again-- but not construction.

some may think this silly but it works "horse linement " from tractor supply works great try it about 16.00 abottle

Diclophenac is good stuff. I was taking it at one 100mg per day in the morning for most of last spring and summer for general arthritis conditions. Took it in the morn and I was feeling great all day. Then the knee snapped in mid-June. Kept on the diclophenac but it didn't do a thing for the knee till about noon, when it had built up full strength. In the afternoon I didn't need the cane and was walking like a kid again. About 6:00 in the evening I was using a cane again, sometimes crutches. Went to 50mg in the morn and 50mg in the evening and that helped keep me young all day but about then the stomach started talking. Tried several others but they have the same affect on the stomach. The cocks comb stuff had me walking around like normal from the middle of January till a few days ago but it must have worn off. I can't get more injections till six months after the last one. So that's my life story. LOL I'm thinking surgery next fall after harvest. Gotta get Marilyn up and running first. Jim

On a lighter note, we went to the grocery store and picked up some raisins and gin. We know the lady at the checkout so we had some small talk about using raisins and gin for arthritis. She said a lot of people use this concoction, but most of them are the old ladies. No comment! Jim
