John Deere 4020 Oil Leak

I have an early 4020 that developed an oil leak out of the
exhaust manifold were the muffler clamps on. Tractor runs
great but this leak has started and isn"t stopping. Its not
diesel either definitely oil. Anybody have any ideas??

If you are 100% sure it is engine oil then I would bet that you have a broken piston oil ring. It is allowing oil past the piston and it is not burnt running under low load. Work the tractor and if it cleans up but you still loose oil then it is a broken/stuck piston ring.

Usually black fluid running out of the muffler is unburnt/raw diesel fuel. It is black because it washed the carbon out of the exhaust. It is caused by several things: low compression, bad injectors, too cold of engine temperature, injection pump turned up too much. These are the common causes.

Well if it's not wet-stacking(blowing out unburnt diesel) have you checked to see if valve cover gasket is leaking? If oil is coming from piston or valve it's overhaul time.

If you aren't "working" the tractor, just loafing it around doing light chore work, it is probably a mixture of condensation, carbon soot, unburned fuel, and possibly a little oil.
You didn't say if the oil level was going down, but if it isn't using oil, than what you are seeing is the condensation, soot and unburned fuel mixture.
Take the tractor out and work it,get it up to temperature, and pull it hard, the "slobber" will probably clear up.
