He almost rolled it...at Scene of "Who Lowered the Brid

Oil Tanker left the road to the median rather than rear-end the stopped traffic. He missed the "Heads Up" on the radio, I guess.....almost rear-ended the stopped traffic at the wreck scene.....He had passed me going about 80 a few minutes before......as "Brake Check, Brake Check!" was called out.

What were you thinking when he came sliding by on your left. What part of the country. That was a close one.

All I can say there were a lot of lucky people at that scene, meaning this truck driver and all who was avoided.

Midland, Texas......That 35 miles is the worse I've ever seen, with all the oilfield truck traffic, and cars. It was bad before the speed limit increase, now that they raised the speed limit to 75, there's many horrific wrecks there. They need to lower the speed limit to 60 right through there.

We were sailing along pretty good, but I heard "Break Check" so I was gearing down when he went sailing by....then he jerked it to the median and applying brakes at the same time. I thought sure he was going to roll........very happy he didn't though. As has been said, it could have been very bad for lots of folks.

(quoted from post at 15:46:53 04/26/13) That's what happens when you text and drive.
My wife and I were driving thru Montana and came up on a truck that was weaving all over the road. I figured the driver was sleepy.....decided it best to get around it ASAP. When we passed it we saw that it was a lady driver texting! If I woulda had a gun......

Saw a texting trucker yesterday. Young guy with the seat on the floor driving a bull rack. We were waiting for him to go by so we could get on the road from a driveway. When he went by he had the phone up by the steering wheel, looking down at it. Came to a stop sign just down the road, he was in the inside lane and started crowding over into traffic in the outside lane as he pulled up to the stop sign. He rolled through the stop sign at about 5 MPH and continued on. He should not be driving a big rig if he does that stuff. I wish I would have noticed the name on the truck so I could have called the trucking company. Jim

You think 75mph limit is bad, go on out by Monahans on I-20, it goes up to 80mph. And them fools like in the pic think it's a good excuse to run 90mph.

he's probably one of those that passes lane closed ahead signs and all traffic is being directed for several miles to change lanes until the very last minute there by causing traffic to bottle neck and come to a crawl, those are the ones i try my best not to let them in when they run out of road.

I drive two different semi s each day so moving a cb back and forth is too time consuming and troublesome.Plus there is some many morons with over powered CB s that get their jollies "warning" people about accidents that dont exist or just rachet jawing when they know there is a problem ahead to keep others from knowing about it since they are overpowering the other transmissions .The childish mentality is why we have quit listening to CB s.The fact he had a way out and didnt roll it is a tribute to the driver.

I hope he learned from that experience, next time he might not be so lucky to have an escape route. You know as well as I do that you have to keep your attention focused far ahead and react to the brake lights you see a quarter a mile up the road. I know its easy to let the mind wander in wide open road but not seeing the stopped traffic and running 80+ in heavy gettin'on and gettin' off traffic is plain dumb-a** ! Those folks in that little car and who knows how many more would have been done for if he had not had an escape route. I saw the stopped traffic easily, not sayin' the CB saved my butt but it always comes in handy. I keep it squelched down so as not to have to listen to the garbage. I enjoy XM Radio with the CB set for close communication. Works very well that way. The company I drive for keeps a CB in every cab so no driver is without one.
