Woke up to 3 inches of fresh snow and it's coming down hard. Ho, Ho, Ho, I put my new bluegrass seed down Sat.Was going to put my Weed and Feed on the lawn this mornig. Day late and dollar short.

We are a couple hundred miles west of you, and the drought isn't over here. We have had probably 20 inches of snow since April 3, but a lot of that has blown into the draws and around the buildings/stackyards/tree groves, etc. It is soaking things up where there has been some snow melt, but we have a long way to go to make the drought go away. Topsoil moisture is adequate now, subsoil moisture in most places is still non-existent around here.

From the map I saw yesterday on the U.S. Farm Report anything west of about the middle of Iowa was still in the red. Meaning they were still too dry.

I don't think my bluegrass made it through the winter. We got a little sprinkle this morning. Hoping for more. The lawn is the least of my worries. If I'm still here next year I can reseed then.

swMn-April snow had about 3" of moisture, subsoil is bone dry, a week of hot weather and that moisture would be gone, we're a long way from getting a crop, as far as I am concerned our dry spell is alive and well, they got snow and moisture in the dirty 30's too
