Foton tractor, worth looking at?

Local JD dealer has a Foton 704 with a loader on the
lot. Tractor has a cab and 4 wheel drive. I am
thinking of looking at it to use with a 9ft haybine
and small square baler, load manure, and plow snow.
I currently don't have a tractor with cab or 4 wheel
drive. Just wondering if anyone has used one of
these or knows anyone who has one.
 
there is a guy down the road that bought a used one last year, i dont see it used much even though it appears to run, my only concern would be if it breaks down where would you get parts for it
 
Here is some information about Foton.

Foton 704 Power:
Engine: 69.1 hp [51.5 kW]

PTO (claimed): 64.9 hp [48.4 kW]

I would ask the Ford dealer if many of the parts will cross over from the mainly Fords. If not I would worry about getting parts. I know of ZERO Foton dealers.

Search around the 'web. I think you'll find owners have had lots of problems and parts are hard to get. If it was me, I'd pass on it.
 

Capital City Equipment Desmoines Iowa has a number of Fotons for sale. Most likely they have parts and service too. Don't know where you are.
 
Thanks for the reply. I did run over to the dealer this afternoon and looked at it. It is still there. For low hours, 400, it was pretty beat. Didn't think much of the tractor myself, might be ok for a weekend farmer but don't think it would stand up to heavy use. Guess I will stick with my Deere's.
