Got a little clutzy this morn so now I"m laying in the er soaking the hand waiting for stitches. Cuts about two inches long and deep into the outside of the palm. Grrr. More later. Jim

I did the same thing last year.....ouch!
Don't forget the tetnus shot and amoxicillin....

OK, I'm home and ready to get back to it. Eleven stitches. Had just wrapped up the chicken coop project (pictures coming), was scurrying along the low side of the steel roof and my pant leg caught on the edge of a small step platform and down I went. On the way down my right hand swiped the end of the steel roof. Ripped my pant leg and a split second later ripped open the side of the hand. I could see meat in there.

In the ER the nurse asked me how long it had been since I've had a tetanus shot. I told her I'd better start rolling up my sleeve now. Tetanus shot didn't hurt a bit. The deadening shots in the palm of the hand, well, that's another story. 99% of you guys know the feeling. LOL. Well, it's back to work. I made the first post just to get my mind off of what was to come next. Jim

Hope it all heals up well and quickly. Ouch.

My husband did that a few years ago... lift a pull-type rotary mower to catch a kitten for our daughter. The blade swung and cut him good. But 2 days later when I finally got him to go to the doctor, they could no longer stitch it - had been open too long. Healed ok anyway.

I once cut the palm of my hand bad on glass......had slight nerve damage and all. At the ER I was asked if drugs or alcohol were involved......my reply......well.......no, but a fair amount of beer was....lol. good luck, heal up quick. Spring is here, you got work to do. Lol.

wife found out you don't smack the screed door glass with the palm of your hand to get the kids to stop whatever it is she doesn't agree with
