Well that's gonna hurt.

Just got a call from a guy I work for, maintaining his rental properties for the last 9 years, that he needs to cut expenses. He has a bunch of apartments, a aldis, dominos pizza, subway and a couple of bakery outlets. He and I got along great, never had any problems. That's what happens when your self employed I guess. Wonder if the cheaper guy will work out for him? Lol, here's a nice pic!

Always sucks when that happens. Most of the ones that left me for that reason eventually came back. Hopefully you will have too much new business and won't be able to take him on when it happens.

Yeah had that happen to me a couple times, hurts but nothing to be done. Nine years is a good run you will replace the job just as he replaced you, mabe better.

All the years in business I can think of many employees and friends that said, "you've got it made 'cause you don't have to take any shift from anybody".

Hopefully its just temporary. You said you both got a long great, maybe it is only about money and he has to cut somewhere.

You left on good terms, good chance he may be giving you a call in the future.

Jayin NY-I am sorry to hear that for you. Capitalism at its best. Find the cheapest way to do it.

Although, I am with you. You get what you pay for.

Where is his subway? next time I'm over there I'll go in there instead of the diner and ask him why his lawn looks so crappy, LOL. I rarely lost a customer in my 25 years with my own business, and the competition was constantly after them. When I did I left on good terms, and if I wanted them back I would drop in from time to time and eventually I almost always got them back.

The subway is in Albany, he just owns the building and rents
or leases it to the owner of the subway? I was just surprised at
his decision, but it's his call,.

My dad hates the initial loss of a bid by a large margin, but at the same time, he knows they"ll pay double when they call him to fix what the cheaper bidder messed up.
