I have the flu AGAIN!!!! The older grand son came down with it Sat. After he had rode with me all day Fri. My wife got it Sunday night and we had to take her to the hospital Monday for IV fluids. She was just in and out but she is weak as a kitten today.

I felt fine when I got up this morning. About half way through chores it hit me. I am glad that the feeder wagon tractor is an open station. LOL I was hanging off a fender while driving for the last three pens. I had a long coat on that made a good kilt when natured called in a hurry. Actually the Scott's had a pretty good idea. LAMO Just think of a bunch of old tractor heads running around with kilts, all natural, swinging in the breeze. I am glad the law was not around or I would have been arrested for indecent exposer. LMAO Used the pressure washer on the first pass on my work cloths. Wife was sure shaking her head when I came into house. (Bedroom window looks over the barn yard). She should be used to me by now.
 
Did get the shot. We both did but it did not work this year. So I got to feel bad for a week after the shot and then the flu twice. Great winter/spring sport!!!
 
I can just immagine a cold wind blowin' up your kilt.....No thanks!IF you can eat,remember the B R A T diet(bannanas,rice,applesause,dry toast)Really 'slows' things down and gives some energy for recovery.Works for us and the kids....Hope you get to feeling better soon.

I got the shot the for the first time this year, darned arm itched for a month it seemed! Got a flu shot, did not get the flu, but got Mono ! Still dealing with that it seems, zaps the energy and motivation like nothing else, just getting over another bout of that today, which is a perfect sunny, still 60 deg F day.

I hear you on the kilt, just a tad bit drafty, cannot imagine allowing that much access to the local insects, that would be nuts wearing that attire at some times of the year !

There is something about the human body, when it wants something out, you really don't stand a chance of fighting it. I arrived just before 7AM on a job 2 1/2 hours south of here, and had the both ends at the same time, lept over a desk to the bathroom, our foreman had no idea, thankfully the office was an empty apartment and I had clothes for a week on hand, a place to change, clean up, it was so violent I tore adominal muscles, I thought I was going to die right there, out for over a week, flu or food poisoning or what the heck it was I will never know. I immediately left the job site and somehow drove the 60 miles south to the condo where I was living, these things you never forget, hope you shake it off soon !
 
The doctor told me that in December, there were two separate flu strains going around. At that time, the flu shot would work (theoretically) for one of the strains. Now, according to him, the strain going around is a third type and is not covered by the flu vaccinations.
 
Not trying to be a know it all, but are you sure its not food poisoning? They say many times you think you have a "24 hour bug" its the food you ate.. I had food poisoning once and it was just like the worst flu I ever had! If our whole group hadn't gotten it, I would have sworn I had the flu.
 
Came down with the same thing a week ago last Saturday. Started out with a sore throat that morning and by that night all heck broke lose and I mean broke lose. Couldn't keep liquids down for over 36 hours and no solid food for 4 days. Still have a head and chest cold I can"t get rid of. They can call it what they want to all I know is that was the sickest I've been since they took my gallbladder out in 99. Wife finally moved back in the bedroom with me last night she stayed as far away from as she could for the last 10 days and I don't blame her. I know how you feel hope you get over it soon.
 
don't know where you are but there are a couple of bad stomach viruses going around here in Tn. they tell them not to come into work when they are sick but they still do especily where i work in asistante live the elderly have a real hard time getting over it.
 
jon f mn: I at least did not pot pictures. LMAO I just thought some of you would find the "kilt" thing funny. I know I flashed on a bunch of us old guys at a summer show all running around in kilts with it all hanging out. LOL Think of running a old JD two banger with the high brake peddles. You would be putting on a show.
 
I don't think it is food poisoning. My son and DIL both got sick too. We have not eat together in weeks. The 6 year old was off school Friday and we think he picked it up at school. Too many people send their kids to school sick. Then all the kids are sick.
 
I too had that(inner body cleanse also.Went to KMart an got some pills that pharmest suggested.They are ---SMART sense anti diarrheal---an they seemed to have helped along with my gramaws buurned toast.
 
Sounds like you had a crappy day! (pun intended) At least you didn"t loose your sense of humor, and the only audience was the cattle and your wife!
 
It is all over south central Pa. First the stomach then the head cold and fever. Thought about sleeping in the bathroom the first two night's.
