This probably off topic (apology) but I bet someone on here knows:
Does anyone know where the headlight on warnining buzzer is located? The one in my "88 chevy k1500 doesn"t work. My "91 k1500 does. If there is not one, is it possible to upgrade to whatever is on the "91?

Thanks!
Kelvin.

I had a 1985 Chev and the buzzer was right beside the fuse block. It just plugged in. How I know is the seat belt warning used the same buzzer. So I just unplugged the buzzer. It still is in the glove box where I left it all those years ago. That one was about two inches tall and one inch wide and tree inches deep. It was square.

Check to see if your dome light comes on when you open the door.
The door switches on these trucks are a common problem and they are required to tell the buzzer to buzz.

My 89 Blazer has the buzzer and dome light switch together in the door jam. Mine was not working so I hooked a rubber tube to a can of wd40 and squirted it into the switch under pressure. After a few times of pressing the door button it started working correctly. Good luck.

I made a cheap and dirty for my '84 GMC... A 12 volt buzzer horn from Radio Shcck and a 3 amp (or more) diode. Wire in series and hang between a ignition terminal and the light terminal on the fuse block. If it sounds when it shouldn't then reverse the leads. Here's what happens: Ignition and lights off - no voltage - no sound. Ignition on - lights off - diode prevents current flow - no sound. Lights on - ignition on - same voltage, no sound. Lights on ignition off - SOUND - current flows from lights through sounder and diode and grounds back through ignition circuit (somewhere). Should be able to find empty terminal for lights and ignition right on fuse block.
