Repairing Cockshut breaking plow's wheel lift

im going to do some sod plowing with an old very heavy duty cockshut breaking plow, i had it in the ground last spring and found that the wheel lift mechanism was not engaging to lift the plow out of the furrow so i ended up just raising the plow up and down with the level lever. I just opened up the lift mechanism and it looks to me that there should be a spring inside ( sorry, if i could post a pic here i would)

my first question is can some one point me in the direction of an overview diagram of how these wheel lift systems work on these types of plows? or at least talk me through what i should be seeing?

as far as i can tell nothing is broken inside that lift hub.

You should see two holes that the spring goes in. One is stationary and one is on the part that engages the cogs. Get a fairly strong spring that fits and it should work. Ron Mn.
