Case 450 Dozer with counterbalance weight

My supervisor has a 450 that he stripped parts off of. No engine or undercarriage. He wants to get rid of it, but, he wants $500 for it. The Scrap dealers have said no. The machine is listed as weighing 13K lbs. But it has a counterweight on the back. How much additional weight is that? How does it attach? It has a good set of arms and the bucket is real good. He advertised the bucket on Craigslist but did not get a call. Are any of the drive gears worth enough to be worth my time to remove them?
I have not seen it.
Thank you
Steve

the counter weight is included in that weight with the engine and tracks removed I would guess 3000-4000 lbs less so in the 9000-10,000 lb range now the final drives and transmission in my mind would be saleable as well as loader cylinders do you have any construction salvage yards close to you? might get more than a iron salvage will pay, I need a Hi/Lo range shift lever, this is the one on the floor board that is bolted to the trans under the floor board but that may not be worth you time removing I am sure you are not close to me as if you were I would be interested in it possibly, I am in NE Wyoming cnt

I am in northern Wisconsin. This guys Dad had a Ford tractor seize up and he sold it to a tractor salvage yard. I will tell him to call them and see if they would be interested. I know that yard had a row of skid steers.
Thank you
Steve
