Char Lynn power steering leakage

The power steering unit on my AC WD-45 is a Char Lynn, Model 5, Serial # 95164. The unit leaks. Can I find seals to replace the leakers and if so where? Is it difficult to replace the seals? Any special tools needed?

Do you have any Motion Industries or Force Hydraulics stores in you area? Those types of places (or similar competitors) should be able to help you out.

Or call Baum Hydraulics in Omaha. 800-228-9222

Probably gonna need some "O" ring picks and something to drive the dust seals in place with. And an instruction sheet to tell you how to "time" it. I know those have been posted here, probably on the Farmall Forum.

Thanks Bob.
Don't have Motion Industries or Force Hydraulics stores here in Northwest Ohio. Will call the # you suggested. Unsure what you mean about sheet to "time" it. Time what?

I think my employer keeps a set of seals in stock. He is in Fulton county. You will also need a good 1/4 inch drive 12 point socket to get the unit apart. Where are you in Northwest Ohio? We used to use quad ring type seals instead of O-rings. J.

is it leaking on the ends where the shaft come out? if so, pretty easy fix. there is an o ring in each end. i matched them with the automotive a/c o-ring assortment i have here at the shop. just remove one side at a time.

as Glenster said shaft seals are usually a common o-ring, had one on an Oliver 88 that leaked, new o-rings cured it

Well just get on Airport highway and go to Zackoffs (not spelled right) east of Swanton. He will have them. Take each one out first and he will match them up.
