Garden corn, that is. Planted some yesterday. At 11.35 AM today temp is 75 and sunny. Would liked to have planted some the last week in March but too cold. Was rainy part of the time also, which I wont complain about. This is in SC.

Old, Last year we were sitting waiting for April 15th to plant, this year hoping for 1st of May.

Ya just saw on the news that Denver is getting hit by snow and it is looking like a good number of people up north will be getting it this week. Said they have had a 50 degree drop in temps in 3 hours

Planted mine Saturday. Am going out now to spray over the top to prevent sugar cane beetle damage. No spray, no corn. Lost one planting last year.
Just stopped by and talked to some old friends at Clemson U. and one told me that Southern States rep came by the other day and said they had Roundup Ready sweet corn seed in 50 pound bags. Only $1600.00 per bag. I said I can cultivate my patch with my 71 year old JD H just fine.

Mentioned in op that I was in SC. I'm in W SC in sight of the mountains(on a clear day) I have no idea of the soil temperature. air temperature today was about 80. Supposed to cool to 70s with rain Thursdy and Friday. I'm hoping that will bring corn up. Haven't seen any commercial corn planted.
