880 David Brown

My brother wants to sell his old 880 David Brown, he said it runs but that the lift is a little weak. And it has never been barn kept, always sits out in the weather year round. He asked me what he could get for it with a 5' bush-hog, I told him probably not much as I bought a good running hi-crop 995 DB for just $650 four years ago and I put about $300 in parts on it and only got $1500 after fixing it up, I told him he would be lucky to get a $1000 for it in our area as nobody wants them, too many Fords, Deeres, and New Hollands with good parts support. What would his 880 DB bring in ya'lls area?

A nice diesel one with 70% tires sold for $4000 at auction last fall. 770 diesel that was rougher from loader work brought about $34-3600.

I sold my 885 with 3400 hours for $3000 but that was fifteen years ago. The rising prices of new stuff is a big factor in this.

Yeah, New England don't take much to Old English tractors. Back east here, if it ran perfect and had good rubber, you'd take the first 1500 and run.

The biggest David Brown I've ever seen was sold at consignment auction this last weekend for about 2 grand, as I recall, and it was pretty and ran like a watch. Decals were gone- I'm thinking it was a 1210?
