I hope you are enjoying yourself!
I commend you; it's hard to post pics of the Caribbean and keep it tractor related!
I stopped at Aruba for a day a few years ago while on a cruise.
You can always find your way back to port because the trees all lean in that direction from the nice warm Caribbean breeze.
My wife and I will be going to Grand Cayman next Tuesday; can hardly wait!

hey brian...
congrats on getting out of NY before hay season starts....this is our third carribbean island...i always try to spot a tractor or two....found some old masseys last year in jamaica...similar year/model to what we have on the farm...
was on a tour today...wife was wearing a "i think his tractor is se*y" t-shirt and a guy who was with us asked if we had any real tractors...so we got talking...he had a nice lineup of IHs....
where are you guys staying in the grand cayman? we've been curious about that.
-by the way...the "breeze" this year is downright windy.

Yeah- and the water- how do they keep it from just flowing away?

"But seriously, folks"- Are there any good snorkeling places down there?

If I ever win the lottery I'm going to buy an island in the Caribbean. Spend half the year there and the other half in Florida which is home. I want to be able to walk down my dock and get in the boat and go fishing anytime the weather is good. I'm jealous I sure wish I was there sitting at the tiki bar enjoying a cold drink My tractors and the water are the two things I enjoy

A friend used to have a state contract to clean a beach. They had to do it at night. They had to look at some awful stuff out there in the dark.

From what people say...yes.
We are not big snorkelers...we did go snorkeling off the big island when we went to Hawaii...
It was fun.
In the carribbean there are some places where you can see sunken ships etc...

Steve,
We stopped at Grand Cayman once on a cruise but this is the first time we're staying.
We are staying on Seven Mile Beach; 1 week at a villa called CocoPlum and the 2nd week at a condo at The Discovery Point Club a mile up the road.
We've stayed at Barbados three different times and I looked all over for the pics I took of all the tractors there but I can't find them.
Barbados is a sugar cane producing island and you see many, many tractors hauling wagon loads of cane to the refinery plants.
I also have a bunch of video of the specially made combines that are built in Australia for harvesting the sugar cane but I haven't a clue on how to post them. Most of the harvesting is still being done by hand now but the combines are becoming more and more prevalent.
I first visited the caribean on a cruise in '88 and I was hooked.
Now, you got to realize that I was just a poor country boy and if (as a kid) anybody ever told me I would get the opportunity to spend vacations in the beautiful caribbean, I would have thought they were nuts! I am truly grateful!

That's not far from where I work now (Trinidad). I'll try to snap some photos of some tractors here and post. Most I've seen are also John Deere.

In Hawaii, we toured an old Cane plantation and in Jamaica we did a rum factory tour...
talk about a labor intensive processs top to bottom....makes hay look easy.

I have found, when we have gone away, that the ag-related tours we get to do are some of the most interesting and informative.

where in ny are you? we are a little west of albany - amsterdam area.

50 miles West of Albany and 10 miles South of Cobleskill; not too far from you, apparently.
My wife and I passed thru Amsterdam a few weeks ago when we took a ride up to Hale Creek C.F. where my son works.
I don't get up in that area too much but I always like the view East as you come down the hill toward the City.

we aren't too far at all...i am actually closer to esperence than anything else....we are5 minute from the corner of 30 and 20...i work in gloversville at the high school...no doubt your son gets to see some of my former pupils at hale creek.

Wow, that's not far at all!
Do you go to the tractor show at Sunny Crest Orchards in Sharon Springs in June?
Maybe we could arrange to get together there and talk about old tractors and stuff?
