'37 John Deere A

I have an unstyled A with 2 speed transmission Hi/Low. I need to remove the lower shaft(countershaft?) in the transmission to replace a gear. I have removed the selector shaft, and the upper shaft out the left side and now I am wondering how to remove the countershaft? It has a tapered bearing on the left side and I have not tore into the right(belt side) yet. I don't want to either because of having to remove the clutch, wheel and other things. Any help????
