old mystery item - pic... can you identify it and its use?

I was told what it is and what it does...

just thought it was unique - and seeing if anyone out there has ever seen one and knows what its purpose is. I will post back later or tomorrow.

And I know, not tractor related. But sometimes I cannot refrain.

Electric heater- draws air down the tube, heated air comes out in the gap above the base.

Or maybe a still. Haven't completely decided.

I know what it is.
It is a gadget built to perform the job it was designed to do.
One cud use it for other things that it wasn't designed to do, but the results wood bee most likley not a very thing to do.

Doesn't look that old but I think it's called a chair. Used for sitting on. Not sure why that copper thingamajig is on it though.

Rick KR and Rusted were furthest off base. For those purposes, it would only work for the Jolly Green Giant or Jack's large friend with the goose that layed golden eggs. LOL.

John B. hit the nail on the head and steve_in_mo was close.

It is an aerator fan. It is from a former bank building. It was kept in the vault in case anyone got locked inside the vault. There was a pipe built into the vault wall which was covered over with wallpaper (both inside and outside of the vault). If a person got stuck inside the vault, they were to punch the tube through the wallpaper and turn it on to draw air into the vault until they were rescued/released from it.
