The sequester only amounts to 2 percent of future spending. THAT'S RIGHT 2% OF FUTURE SPENDING. There should not be any cuts in current spending because of it. It is all a BS political fooTball being kicked around trying to brainwash us subjects. Sorry BIG O it ain't working with the smart oneS. You know, the ones who didn't vote for you. AND the sequester was BIG O's idea to get what he wanted earlier.

The shortest landing I ever accomplished in a T38 was 1,500 feet at Whiteman AFB. I flew a very minimum airspeed approach for practice. Crew chief said the brakes were, um , HOT!

That is funny. Actually that fighter is now located on the USS Hornet Museum in Alameda. Claim is that F14 was one that appeared in the movie Topgun. The jet came to the Hornet on a barge. Lots of people came out to watch her get loaded aboard. To make this legal the Hornet has tractors on her, but I think they call them tugs.

When we went to the Persian Gulf, the first time, I was on the USS America. We carried over a few OV10 Broncos for the Marine Corps while another of the carriers carried several of the new F117 Nighthawks. I don't know how they got the F117's off, but they flew the OV10's off of the America. They are the only planes I've ever seen launched, in the 'modern day' not using the catapults. First we turned into the wind and sped up to flank speed (around 30 knots). In turn, they got all the way back to the fantail and launched just like they did during WW2. I think I've got pics of the launches in a cruise book somewhere. Wish I could have actually been on the flight deck to see it instead of just watching on on the ships CCTV system, but either way it was just plain cool to see.
