saturn aura xe. 84,000 miles on it, 3 year 36,000
mile bumper to bumper warranty. 9500 bucks. Gonna
replace the 91 geo metro i just sold that i had a
near death experience in....lost all brakes in it
and took a turn at 50mph in it....not fun...drove
it home parked it fixed the brakes and sold
it...just hope the saturn is a good car...no they
dont make them anymore either ...what everyones
opinion on em? thanks Bob

Very good cars. We had a '95 with 285,000 miles on it when the flywheel ring gear gsve out. Push started it and sold it for $75.00. 4 cyl. 5 speed stick. Basic, homely car, but served us well. I'd buy another one.

Daughter had a Saturn. Real good car. Nothing to love about it, but then again nothing to hate. Just good basic transportation that did its job with out problem

I believe that car is based on a European GM model (an Opel?). Have heard good things about them, at least nothing real bad. Good luck with it!

That"s the upper end of retail, for a car that"s out of production and parts are already drying up for. There"s a reason the brand didn"t survive- I"d look elsewhere unless it can be bought real cheap.

I had one I put 175000 on before I sold it. I sold it in 2004 and the same people have it and drive it daily. I see it all the time, should have kept it. I would buy another one.

Not trying to start an argument, but parts are not drying up for that car. I agree that the price is high retail.

We have an 2008 Aura XE 3.5 v6 with 90k on speedo. Not any real problems, just replaced the battery, it uses an expensive DIN battery. Parts are still easy to get, shares a lot of parts with the Pontiac G6 and Chevy Malibu.

Some parts can indeed be hard to find for Saturns. We had a real issue finding lower control arms for one awhile back. I just finished a front wheel bearing in a "05 Relay. Local parts house had parts in stock for it. Some Saturns use a v6 Saab engine that is a real bear to work on.

I dont think parts are drying up for that car. OEMs are required to supply parts for 10 years after production.

Kelly's blue book has that car priced at $8592.00 if it's in excellent condition. You can look yourself it's a free lookup. Hal

That rule is a farce , they can stop production and wait until they have 10,000 orders before they ever build replacement parts.

Bob,
Hang in there. I just spent three months looking for a replacement for my wife,s blown up malibu. I know Hal thinks the guy is a little high. One thing I noticed, was that all dealers were about 2 to 3 grand over kelly blue book prices. I finally found an 04 impala from an individual on craigs list, right around kbb guidelines. Keep the faith.

I'd agree with the other guys that the price is high. Everything in the RR valley is high though. If you want better prices look at the cities or Souix falls maybe even further south. The market is distorted here and prices are wacky. My last two vehicles came from back home in MI and where between 3-4k cheaper for very similar vehicles. so it more than made up for driving them back.
