Snow Situation

This pic from yesterday shows the snow situation here in Sask. as of March 19 and it has not improved at all since then. Hardly any melting at all yet to take down the record high snow levels. Its starting to look like a late spring with lots of run off and flooded roads and fields. This old 3020 works harder in the winter than it does all summer.

(quoted from post at 07:35:29 03/27/13) If you don't mind me asking, where in Saskatchewan are you? Got friends near Star City. My e-mail is open.

Stan
Hi Stan, no luck with the email or pm so I will just comment that this photo was taken at Lipton, Sask. not far from me. Star City is way up north but for all I know they could have less snow up there than we in the south have. Its the kind of winter we have had.

I would like to know more about the snow blower. What year made? Does it run off the front PTO?

Looks like we are going to have some flooding issues as well this spring here. There is between 4 and 5 feet on the ground still and have has 253 inches of snowfall so far this season with no real melts at all, so the snow on the ground is packed full of water. And the weather guessers are calling for more going into next week.

Funny thing is for "here" this seasons 253" (21 feet) is still 137" (11.4 feet) short of our all time record.

I knew a guy that lived in the Very Northern part of Michigan. He said that they got over 12 feet of snow for the year. He was in college back then at a dorm I guess.

The snow blower is a custom built push bar on a John Deere (McKee) snowblower. You wouldn't think it but that blower is nearly 40 years old and has moved a lot of snow. It was originally a three point rear mount and he modified it to mount on the 148 front end loader for a while. Finally he built a push bar and mounted the blower on that. Those front (or mid) pto John Deeres have a real advantage for this situation.
