O/T. Heated seats

Been thinking about a new truck. Our present truck has leather seats with heat. I don't like the leather, but like the heat. We were at a Chevy dealer not long ago and they had a new pickup with leather but no heat. The salesman said they could send the pickup to a upholstery shop and have the heat installed in the seats.

Is it possible to install the heat in cloth seats?? Didn't think to ask the salesman. Thoughts please.

I had heat installed after market. i wish i hadn"t. none of the safety features to shut off heat when the key is off.

It can be installed aftermarket but I doubt if you are going to like it. It won"t be quite right, warranty will be a problem and in a couple years you wouldn"t be able to find any parts. I can"t think of anything aftermarket that I"d rather have than what the original equipment was.

They can, and the dealer can put it in, its all plug and play. The buttons will be in the cubby hole beside the radio to the right. (A little awkward for the LT. I sorta miss my LTZ, everything was within an easier reach. It was stolen first of Feb.)

My Olds 88 has heated cloth seats as a dealer installed option.

I never bother to use them normally, as cloth seats don't seem as cold to sit on as leather. Only time I've used them is if I was on the road with a sore back. Then the heat felt good. Can't recall ever using the passenger side.

bob, get the heated leather seats and put seat covers on them, your truck will be worth more when it comes time to part with it, chuck
