Milestone Herbicide

Anybody use it? Particularly interested in 2 weeds, english daisy and horse nettle. Pros and cons, is $125 a quart about the right price?

Don't remember what I had to pay for it, but used it on several different weeds than what you listed and it killed them good.

Price is about right- I think I paid $118. Seems expensive, but you use very little, so not so bad. I wanted to use it in a backpack sprayer for spot spraying, and ended up using a syringe because I couldn"t measure that small an amount any other way. Worked very well.

I used it on tickclover (desmodium) that no other broadleaf would even touch, killed it dead. I can get it for around $95/qt around here but that was last year.

As with any effective weed spraying, timing is everything - whether its time of year needed to spray or temperature to be effective or waiting a day or two after a rain to insure a growth stage

Ran some numbers, At $135/qt, Milestone, and $135/2.5 gallon, for Grazon P+D, here's what I came up with: $27.00/A for Milestone @6 oz/A, $27.50/A for Grazon P+D @4 pints/A. I am sure I am forgetting something, like shipping costs, but I bet it is cheaper to ship a quart, than 2-1/2 Gallons. Looks like on cost alone, milestone is a better deal. Would still like to hear from someone who has tried both, for the above weeds.

You don't need 4 pints per acre for Grazon. A tad over a qt will do. 10 gals mixture /AC.
It is restricted use. Do you have license?
All the feed, fert, and seed places carry it. I buy a 30 gallon barrel every spring.

Read the label, for oxeye daisy, it's 4 pints/A. My local supplier says the milestone isn't available in under case lots. I think that's BS, but that's another subject. Oh, and I am a licensed commercial applicator, can get most anything, but dynamite! Milestone isn't restricted, and uses so much less per acre, it's probably safer, overall, IMHO.

I am not sure what English daisy is, but I know horse nettle. I have killed horse nettle with 1.5 quarts of 2-4-D plus surfactant. I sprayed it in early May when the horse nettle was small. I got 90% kill rate on it the first year and 100% the second.
