Question for the guys in the deer EHD areas

Have been seeing deer in my area all over the place - Just drive down about any rural (and not so rural) areas. Drove out on my place this afternoon - counted eighteen in one field. Son and I walked out this evening, saw about the same number scattered over about 30 acres. All munching grassland/pasture. They've even been in the fields adjacent to the house and my front yard. Wonder if the guys that were in the EHD areas are seeing any. Suspect these I'm seeing will dispurse - some into those areas in a few weeks.

They're every where around here Ray. Ionia County.
We weren't hit as hard as other areas, but there's definitely no shortage here.
For those wondering, here's some information on EHD from the Michigan
DNR website. EHD

There will always be over population of deer in some areas. One reason is people do not let people hunt like years back. A few hunters are slobs and ruined it for everyone. A lot of people are worried that they are going to get sued if something happens on there land. Another thing is that people are more worried about horns then anything else. They only shoot the big bucks and no does. More does mean more fawns. To do it the correct way you need to shoot so many mature does every year.

(quoted from post at 22:07:27 03/23/13) Certain ethnic groups would have no issues eating some good tasting, tender and fresh edh venison..
Most wouldn't, if they knew what it was.
EHD doesn't hurt the meat or harm people. It just kills deer.

We have lost a lot here in southeastern Illinois, the dog still is dragging them up to the house. This summer you could smell them if you slowed down and had your window down. But saw 6 the other morning on the way to Coffee.

I live in McHenry Co., Il. which has CWD deer.
I aint found any dead ones, dont't think its got much of an effect, but I really dunno.
Around 6:15 pm each day, there is a herd of 30+ in a 20 ac. field down the street.

Ya they're here. The boys were all worked up,thought it'd be years before we had any again. I told'em they'd migrate back here as long as there was feed for'em.

Very few. I went for a walk on my 30 acres a couple weeks ago and found 1 set of deer tracks in the snow. They're usually all over. Another property in the same area that I hunt usually has a herd of 50+ hang around every winter. There's about 12 this year. It'll be a couple years before the hunting gets back to what it was.

I found over 20 dead deer this summer. We still have PLENTY of live ones. My brother said, during deer season last fall, he couldn't even find tracks, where they are normally over run. Just goes to show, if you don't manage the population, mother nature will!!!!
