Snow and cold!

Well I have seen many posts about people not liking winter
or the snow, so I feel kinda weird because I love the snow
and cold. Maybe it's because it's my 4 months off from
my landscaping work. My question is, who likes the snow
and the cold? Who dont mind the winter months?

Jay, Im with you. The snow and cold give me a chance to recharge for the long and hectic days of spring field work, summer weather watching and harvest prep and fall harvest.

I like it for the lack of flys, bees and stinging insects, but get sick of the cold in an older farm house, and the lack of a heated shop to do outside work in. I also get very sick of driving in the snow.

This about says it all. Bruce

Snow and cold give me a chance to make a little cash to finance my various addictions, like eating, wearing clothes, living indoors, and oh yes, tractors.

On the other hand I do get sick of freezing my butt off, maintaining and repairing snow plows, and dealing with customers who are already mad about having to get their driveways plowed, before they see the bill.

This is the way, this 71yr. old guy, beats the snow!!!!!

Then during the spring and summer mo's, I can do what I always do, rebuilding M/S TSX carbs, and sitting in front of a fan!!!

Other than it's effect on my gas bill and firewood supply, I prefer snow & cold(!)

I look forward to winter. Things kind of slow down, I finally have time to do some woodworking and if I get tired of that there's always firewood to cut, split, haul, etc.. I never seem to get everything done that I plan each year, so now I have to wait for another winter.

Not saying I'm right...
BUT, "I'm Dreaming of a White EASTER" just doesn't seem fitting somehow.

I love it!! Bought land and built a ski house in NW Mass. Got 3 snowmobiles and also the whole family skis.

That's a nice looking place you've got there! I think I see your snowmobile trailer there near the garage! Looks like no close neighbors either.

Thanks Jay! Took me 10 years to build it but well worth it and it was fun! Wife an I started out framing by pitching a tent inside the foundation and went from there.
Got 2 dozers, 2 dumps with plows so deep snow not a problem---brother and i bought 205 acres and then split it in half so lots of room. Been clearing forest on the flat areas and "attempting" to grow some food plots for deer and turkeys--but not doing so well with the farming aspect!

It's funny the posts the last few weeks would lend one to believe just the opposite of what most are saying on the subject. I for one would far prefer the summer. even though the hours are much longer the sun akes a body feel good. dreary and dark days of winter are extremely depressing and I have a shop to work in.
