It is like the abandoned barns and farms - someone's dream from the past. Moments lived, days worked, echoes of conversations... all gone now, except the haunting building remnants of those days gone by.

Keep on clickin' - capture as much Americana as you can. It's fading fast. Thanks for posting.
 
Am adding a few rather than start another thread. The top one is one of the corncribs I grew up shoveling corn out of.

Beautifully stated, Sweetfeet. An old abandoned building is not just an old building, but a time capsule of sorts containing a microcosm of a time gone by, a way of life we can only speculate about. I try to re-create in my mind what the old building might have seen in its day, and the people that used and enjoyed it.

I think that is what I love about decaying machines and buildings - the images that come to mind of other people, places and times.
 
That was in my neighborhood, no longer there. Glad I got the picture. We always wonder what the stories are of a place like this, like how many boys played in the mows, how many animals it housed, how many storms it weathered...
