There is a very nice bluegrass type of song called "It's Only the Wind". I found a reference that says the song was written by Tom T. Hall and Louise Scruggs. Can you verify that this is correct for the authors?? Thanks.

I heard it sung by a bluegrass group in Iowa and it's also on You Tube videos.

Well, now, that was interesting! I Googled, "who wrote the song It's Only the Wind", and found TWO songs with the same name! One, about an elderly lady who thought she heard her children at the door, but it was "only the wind" was written by Tom T. Hall. The version that I listened to was sung by a lady named Lisa Ray. This is the song that you must be referring to.
But there is another song with the same name that was recorded by Billy Dean back in 1991. It has a totally different set of lyrics, and is also a good song. I listened to it on youtube music.
By the way, for all you lovers of the Green and Yellow, Billy Dean also has one out called, "She Left a Dear John Letter on MY John Deere Tractor". It's kinda funny. I'm glad you posted the question, I learned something tonight. Not likely that it will ever make me rich, but at least I have the satisfaction of knowing.

Shade tree,

Yes, the song about the old lady by the window is the one I mean.

Can you point me to the reference that Tom T. Hall wrote this? My only reference comes from You Tube and I'm not much for giving You Tube entries creditability!!

I've searched through MANY discograhy listing for Tom T. Hall and find no reference to this song on any list. That's why I'm not convinced.
