Well: temps stalled the maple syrup operation last weekend. Temps. at or below freezing with Great Lakes Clippers rolling through all week. Sun came out today and temps peaked at 28F this afternoon. Hay buyer finally showed up about 3:00 this afternoon to get loaded. He left the farm at 6:00, with a load of 3rd cut alfalfa. Don't know who helped load the truck from the hay mow in the main barn. I'm on the disabled list at present, and today was Sunday, so the Amish help was not available.

Where exactly are you at? I have a friend that just moved to Westdale, off 13, just north of lake oneida. He is milking cows. No oppertunities down here unless you have big $$ or family in the business. I didnt know you have amish up there. Amish all over the place down here in lanc county.

Larry,
We are on the north end of James Fenimore Coopers imortalized Lake Glimmerglass, Known as Otsego Lake, Origin of the Susquehanna River, nowadays. THe Mokawk River/ Erie Canal/ Clinton's Ditch, just to our north, and the Great Sacandoga Lake, a bit further to our NE. Lots of smaller lakes and streams in every direction.
