Dancing with a wounded warrior

A friend forwarded me a piece called same as subject. It refers to a wonderful thing being done by former President Bush at his Texas ranch.
Anyone heard of this? I haven't heard about it in the news media.

Any of you Texas friends here know about it?

It was the war that he set up so he should show her more respect. Just can not say anything good about that man.

Forgotten all about 911, eh?

Something I always wonder about: It's funny how some people love GWB but at the same time make fun of Joe nnalert.

Personally, I think they are cut from the same cloth: Rough talkin', 'to the point' guys you'd share a beer with, prone to gaffes but generally good natured.

I guess it's what side of the political fence you're on.

Say what you will about the man, he always has class and a big heart.

And a GENUINE big heart - not the opportunistic kind found so often in Washington.

... not naming names.

I'd be happy to have him as a neighbor. Can't say that about too many politicians.

Are you talking about that smirking, smiling, everything is funny guy they elected last Nov. to the vp--How can you conpare the two in the same breath?

I agree with you ICUBY, who started the war and who is making all the money from the war. When talking about war, I think about Creedence Clearwater - "Fortunate Son", a classic. I got draftedd in 64. Where was Bush and Cheney?

To those that run GW Bush down here goes. I did not agree with many of his political policies. I have met the man. He was at a retirement party for an old friend of mine. GW was president at the time. Laura and he where very gracious people. I actually spoke to them for a few minutes with the guest of honor.

GW Bush alway treated the members of the armed services with respect. external_link only does it on the rare occasion. external_link's salute makes me sick.

I gave blood and sweat for this country. external_link has given NOTHING!!!!! That includes respect for the fighting men and women. He skips most Memorial Day services. I do not care what his political policies are but he should show more respect to the men and women that served this country.

OK some claim that Bush started a war. Did he attack the WTC? Did Roosevelt attack Pearl Harbor? In both cases no. Did both react to a attack? YES! Big difference is that at Pearl Harbor soldiers, sailors and Marines died. But that's OK, soldiers are supposed to die for their countries. So considering the intel he was fed just what as Bush supposed to do? Just cause you never were willing to make the sarifices to preserve the constitution, against all ememies.....isn't a reson to attack someone who does. Your guy never even served or was willing to put his life on the line.

This is from me and all the others vets who did defend your right to post the pile of crap.

Please stop trying to force your abundant crap down my throat. It's just waisting your time and annoying the pig!

All I know is what I heard from former Secret Service guys I worked with and Marines I knew, the Bush family was a class act. Nice people. Friend told me the elder Mrs Bush was like a favorite aunt to the Marines they dealt with at the WH and Camp David. She knew their names and often knew about their families. The old man was said to be a bit more aloof but a good guy. Barbara and young George were said to just be aces all the way around. Like real people so to speak.

Heard the same type of thing and experienced the same type of thing myself with Gov Pataki and his family. OTOH you had Spitzer, Clinton, etc. Not so nice at all.

Oh how we have forgotten the facts of 911. There were 19 terrorists involved, 17 of them had Saudi passports. Not one had an Iraqi passport, not one had been trained there. Do I believe that Sadam was a "good guy"? Not for one second. But in the world court (the real one and the court of world opinion), are we allowed to start a war without PROOF of their attacking us?? A preemptive war!! Colin Powell (a man for whom I have great respect) was hung out to dry by his superiors with the bogus "data" he had to present to the UN. In my mind, Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfelt brought us to one of the low points in US history.

Seems people have strong feelings about the last two Presidents.

I can"t say that I am a fan of external_link.

However G W Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney did start the war in Iraq without just cause and a lot of innocent people died.

I was in the army for four years, 18 months in Viet Nam, I don"t recall G W Bush, Rumsfeld or Cheney going there to protect our country.

You can like them if you want, but they don"t get any respect from me.

If you had been President and your country had been attacked and if another hot head in the same region was making noise about harming your nation and if he refused to let inspectors in to make certain his WMD programs were not in operation and if all the worlds intelligence agencies were saying the guy was up to something and if you gave him chance after chance to open up for inspection and if he continued to make noise about doing your nation harm...would you just ignore it? Don't forget, he had at least 500 tons of yellow cake that wasn't supposed to be there, all the stuff to make the upgraded material and he'd used chemicals on people before.

If you'd been in his shoes and not done anything, you'd be "guilty" in the same way Clinton is for not going after Osama when he had the chance.

People are still saying Sadam had no WMD.Those same people should go to Iraq and into the area where the Kurds live. They will get an ear full as to what Sadam used to kill many thousands of his own countrymen. He had to go along with many of his subordinates.
