Ford 445 Power shuttle.

I working on a pre 1981 Ford 445 Power shuttle. It has low stall torque converter. I have rebuilt the clutch pack, placed pump and torque converter. When I first start it up the 4-speed gear box shifts fine. But when I put in reverse it and back to nuetral it still pull in reverse. I have it all back apart on the work bench now. double check the disk the cupped plates were facing up as should be. Every thing esle seem's fine. Would a faulty toque conveter cause this problem? I've had it several times and realy need some advice.

Check your linkage first. Sounds like something is out of adjustment or worn and is not moving the valve spool. I don't see how the torque converter would cause your problem. Did you pressure test the clutch pistons before install and make sure you didn't crack a cast sealing ring on the input shaft. Before you split her apart, disconnect the linkage and shift the valve spool manually; just don't get run over. If she pushes dirt in F and R, you know its in the linkage. Hope this helps.

Edit. I missed your comment about the shuttle being on the bench. Check your valves carefully while you have it apart. If the problem is not in the linkage and the clutch pack and input shaft are assembled correctly, the problem is in a valve.
