Old JD planter box lids

Saw a pair of the old cast iron ones today in an antique store for $45 each. Now I know why someone stole the ones I had.

if i throw some stats, acronyms, and "let's say" stories at you, could i convince you that you should have had them lids insured? nothing in particular has soured me about ins, i just don't think it is worth it in many cases. i hate forward contracts and the like because they distort the markets.

That's why I used "popcorn can" lids on my JD planter - they fit alsmost perfectly with just a small "dimple" made with pliers.
