Did You Ever Notice?

Have you taken notice how things start off then get completely turned around.

Like the Farmall Tractors. Motor cultivator had the narrow end in the rear and eventually turned around and had the narrow front and changed direction from reverse to forward.

Silos were built from the bottom up and now are built top first then raised from the bottom.

Water wells were bricked from the bottom to the top now the casings get put in the top and pushed down.

Are there any other vise-versa items out there that I haven't seen or thought of???

producer's, heinholds, and a couple independents used to call me looking for fat hogs to buy.
after that all ended, i had to call one place (yeah, remember me) and ask if it was ok to sell that day.

Farmers used to be respected honest, and hard working, and being a land owener was a mark of sucess. Now too many times farmers are made out to be evil villens, because of the price of food. And land owners are seen as wealthy thugs that some how rob the common faimly at the grocery store.Bruce

Partly Cloudy means more sun than clouds

Partly Sunny means more clouds than sun

I don't know what mostly sunny means, partly cloudy? So, partly sunny means mostly cloudy? I'm really confused now!

Bruce- Put myself into farming part-time, and have some real nice neighbors that farm, mostly guys in their 50's that enjoy the thought of a young guy starting out small and using "smaller" 1980's style equipment. As I grew up in the 80's and 90's I really respected farmers and saw them as hard working. There were a lot of truly family operations, and the main thing is these guys were happy to farm their family farms and felt blessed to have been given the opportunity. I'll say it again, they are/were content to farm their farms, and didn't have a desire to farm half the county. You don't see that as much, and direct FSA payments on top of tremendous profit are what kills the public's perception.

Actually, the safe way to dig a well is to build the walls from the top, removing the dirt from the center as the walls settle. Can you imagine being in a 50 foot deep hole 4 feet wide and digging, with somebody up at the top hoisting out the dirt? Can you say collapse?

Silos around here were dug into the ground. Not bunkers, but like a big well. Today, what's a silo?

We drive on parkways and park in driveways.

Get married and have kids, now it is visa-versa.

Parents were in charge of the kids, now they let the kids run the show.
